She has performed with Jennifer Kayle and Company, Shelter Repertory Dance Theater, Charlotte Adams and Dancers, Duarte Dance Works, Sara Semonis, and in works by Miguel Gutierrez and Lucas Crandall. In the Bay Area she has performed with Fog Beast, Katie Faulkner’s little seismic dance company, Paufve Dance, Nina Haft & Company, Rebecca Chun, Rogelio Lopez, Jessica Damon, Deborah Karp, and Bandaloop. Her choreography has been seen at Bare Bones, Watchword Press presents The Whole Story, the Dance IS Festival, and Shotwell Studios, and has been commissioned by College Preparatory School, University of San Francisco, and the Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble. Mo was an Assistant Professor of Dance at Illinois State University and currently teaches classes at the University of San Francisco, UC Berkeley, and Shawl-Anderson Dance Center, where she also directs the Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble. Mo is a certified MELT Method Hand and Foot instructor and completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga Mandala in Berkeley, CA.
In 2013, Mo co-founded the Mid To West Dance Collective with Rebecca Chun, Sarah Chenoweth, and Kate Vigmostad. All four choreographers completed the MFA program in dance at the University of Iowa and now support each other in making and producing their work in the Bay Area and beyond. Their first show, Go., was a sold-out success at NohSpace Theater in San Francisco in December 2013. Mid To West produced their second show, Part & Parcel, in May 2015 at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. This performance was the culmination of artist residencies at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center and SafeHouse for the Performing Arts. Guest choreographer Peiling Kao set “A Fizzy Drink, A Metro Walk” on Mid To West members Sarah Chenoweth, Rebecca Chun, and Mo Miner for the Summer Performance Festival (SPF 8) in San Francisco in June 2015. Our most recent project was a new dance c0-choreographed by Sarah, Rebecca, and Mo for Constants & Variables, produced by Colin Epstein at Dance Mission Theater in the fall of 2016.
